SANWO-OLU LEADS KOH CAMPAIGN TEAM TO IKORODU DIVISION, SEEKS SUPPORT FOR APC CANDIDATES

The leadership of the Ikorodu Division, comprising traditional rulers, political leaders, (men and women), assured the campaign team of their readiness to vote en masse for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC Governorship Candidates, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat and her Running mate, Princess Damilola Sonayon-James, in the January 2027 elections.
Prominent royal fathers and political leaders, including the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Shotobi, expressed their support for the continuity of the progressive administration in Lagos and at the federal level.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Hamzat expressed his appreciation to the traditional rulers and urged them to mobilise their subjects to come out en masse and vote for all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
He described the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as crucial to the continued progress of the country, saying failure to return the President for a second term and ensure victory for the APC in Lagos would be a political tragedy for Nigeria.
According to him, President Tinubu deserves a second term because he has demonstrated courage, experience and commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves a second term because he has lived up to expectations by fulfilling campaign promises, showing courage and displaying rich experience in the national interest,” Hamzat said.
On the need for APC to retain Lagos, the APC Governorship Candidate said Lagosians had confidence in the party because of its record of achievements and visible development.
He commended the Sanwo-Olu administration for its achievements in transportation, technology, healthcare and education through the THEMES+ Agenda, stressing that continuity remained the most sensible option for Lagos.
“Lagos is too vital a state to be experimented with,” Hamzat said.
Also speaking, Senator Tokunbo Abiru urged APC members and supporters not to underestimate the opposition, noting that taking voters for granted could produce unintended consequences.
Abiru also expressed confidence in the capacity of Dr. Hamzat, describing him as experienced, capable, humble and a man of integrity.
Similarly, the member representing Ikorodu Division in the House of Representatives, Hon. Jimi Benson, called on residents of the division to vote for all APC candidates in the coming elections.
The APC Chairman in Lagos State, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, stressed the importance of effective mobilisation, particularly the involvement of youths and canvassers, ahead of the 2027 elections.
He described the election as crucial and urged party members to approach it with seriousness and determination by mobilising voters to come out in large numbers.
In his address, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Shotobi, commended Governor Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy, Dr. Hamzat, for the cordial relationship between them.
The monarch urged the duo to sustain the relationship for as long as possible, saying the duo are worthy of emulation “as far as political relationships is concerned”.
