Ahead of 2027 Elections, Zonal Headquarters Holds Seminar for Lagos, Ogun Police Personnel

In preparation for the forthcoming 2027 general elections, the Zone 2 Police Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, has organised a seminar for personnel of the Lagos State Police Command and its Ogun State counterpart.

In a statement issued and signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Lagos Command, SP Abimbola, she said the aim of the one day training was to adequately prepare personnel for the forthcoming general elections.

She said, “The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, attended the opening ceremony of a one day training programme held on Monday, August 31, 2026, at the M.D. Abubakar Hall, Zone 2 Headquarters.”

According to her, “The programme was organised by the Nigeria Police Force, Zone 2 Zonal Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, in collaboration with the Institute for Police and Security Policy Research, with the theme, ‘Professionalism, Neutrality and Collaboration: Strengthening Election Security for Safe and Credible Elections.’”

The training forms part of proactive measures by the Nigeria Police Force to ensure adequate preparedness for the upcoming elections, with a focus on strengthening the professionalism, neutrality and operational readiness of police personnel, as well as fostering effective collaboration for safe, peaceful and credible elections.

The participants included the 14 Area Commanders of the Lagos State Command, as well as their counterparts from the Ogun State Command.
