TRAIN THE TRAINERS PROGRAMME: ORILE AGEGE LCDA TAKES SPORTS DEVELOPMENT TO THE NEXT LEVEL

The Executive Chairman,Orile Agege Local Council Development Area, Hon. Akinola Abiodun Idowu has flagged off a (2) two-day Train the Trainers programme slated for 19th and 20th of August, 2026,at the Orile-Agege Primary School Hall, Orile-Agege, Lagos.

The programme, themed “Equipping Our Coaches,” is another strategic initiative of the present administration aimed at strengthening sports development and empowering local coaches with modern knowledge and practical skills.

The initiative reflects the Chairman’s commitment to youth development, talent discovery, and community advancement.

The training programme brings together more than 100 coaches from different sporting disciplines across Orile-Agege and its neighboring communities.

Participants have the opportunity to learn from experienced resource persons and sports professionals, including Ayo Filani, Ayobami Joseph Okanlawon, Fatai Akande Smith, Oladipo Liadi, and Taiwo Salako.

Through interactive sessions, practical demonstrations, and knowledge-sharing activities, the programme is expected to improve coaching standards, promote professionalism, and prepare coaches to nurture the next generation of athletes.

Speaking through the initiative, Hon. Akinola Abiodun Idowu reaffirmed his administration’s determination to continue investing in programmes that promote excellence, create opportunities, and strengthen community participation.

The Executive Chairman implores the coaches to be dedicated and put in their best in contributing to Sports development in Orile Agege.

He further assured the participants of his continued support to them both within and outside the country.

The Chairman,Orile Agege Sports Council Mr Liadi Oladipo,assured the Executive Chairman of his team’s utmost commitment in shaping the face of sports in the lcda by using his wealth of experience in the sports industry.

He showered encomium on the Executive Chairman and his team for their support especially on the previous sporting activities (Run for Asiwaju and Fight for Asiwaju) that has been carried out by the Sport Council.

The 2 day event was attended by The Executive Committee and some management team

Certificate of attendance were later presented to all the certified participants.

The Train the Trainers programme is built on the principles of empowering coaches, shaping champions, and building stronger sports across Orile-Agege. The council therefore encourages all registered participants to take advantage of this unique opportunity to acquire valuable skills that will contribute to the growth and transformation of sports within the local community.
