LAGOS STATE MINISTRY OF WEALTH CREATION AND EMPLOYMENT HOLDS INAUGURAL INTERACTIVE MEETING WITH NEWLY APPOINTED SUPERVISORS/SA WEALTH CREATION AT THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT LEVEL
In a strategic move to strengthen grassroots-driven Economic Empowerment Wealth Creation Initiatives and Employment Generation across the State, the Lagos State Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment convened its inaugural interactive and sensitization meeting with the newly appointed Supervisors and Special Advisers of the newly created Portolio of Wealth Creation and Employment across the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the Center of Excellence.
The meeting Initiated by the SSA to the Governor through the approval of the Honourable Commissioner and the Permanent Secretary, held at the Ministry’s conference room, marked a significant step towards strengthening and deepening collaboration between the State Government and Local Councils in delivering sustainable wealth creation initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods, reducing unemployment and fostering economic inclusion thereby amplifying the T.H.E.M.E.S + Agenda of Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu.
The gathering was graced by the Honourable Commissioner MWC&E; Hon. Akinyemi Bankole Ajigbotafe, the Permanent Secretary MWC&E; Mrs Ololade Aina, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Wealth Creation and Employment as well as Directors of the Ministry, Representatives of Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) who all emphasized the importance of synergy and coordinated efforts in actualizing the State Government’s agenda for job creation, wealth generation and economic development.
Furthermore, the interactive session focused on key thematic areas, including aligning all Supervisors and Special Advisers with the State’s policies, mission and vision for inclusive economic growth through the Ministry. Discussions also centered on sharing reports, best practices and addressing challenges encountered in youth and women employment initiatives at the local government level.
A major highlight of the meeting was the emphasis on strengthening monitoring, evaluation and reporting systems to ensure accountability, transparency, and measurable impact in the implementation of various programmes.
Consequently, the meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from all stakeholders to work collectively in advancing wealth creation, reducing unemployment and building a more prosperous Lagos where opportunities for growth and empowerment are accessible to all.
