Surulere United Residents Protest Erratic Power Supply at EKEDC Office

Residents of Surulere United on Wednesday staged a peaceful protest at the office of the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) in the Sanya area to formally register their grievances over persistent erratic power supply in parts of the community.

The protesters, who marched calmly to the EKEDC facility, lamented that the unstable electricity supply had severely disrupted socio economic activities, affecting businesses, households and daily livelihoods within the area.

Speaking during the protest, the residents warned that they would be compelled to obstruct the activities of the electricity distribution office if their concerns were not urgently addressed.

They called on EKEDC to take immediate steps to restore stable power supply and provide lasting solutions to the challenges confronting the community.

The residents stressed that reliable electricity is critical to economic growth and social wellbeing, urging the power distribution company to respond promptly to their demands and prevent further hardship in Surulere United.
