World AIDS Day 2025: First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Calls for Renewed Commitment to Ending HIV/AIDS by 2030

The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, has urged Nigerians to intensify efforts toward eliminating HIV/AIDS as the world marks World AIDS Day 2025 with the theme “Overcoming Disruptions; Transforming the AIDS Response.”

In a message commemorating the day, the First Lady noted that Nigeria has recorded significant progress in HIV prevention, treatment, and care over the years. She emphasised, however, that the country’s journey toward achieving an AIDS-free generation by 2030 is still ongoing.

Senator Tinubu stressed that every Nigerian deserves equitable access to life-saving services without fear of stigma or discrimination. She appealed to young people across the country to take charge of their health by knowing their HIV status, getting tested, and seeking treatment promptly if found positive.

The First Lady also called on communities to show compassion, support affected persons, and reject all forms of stigmatization.

She wished Nigerians a meaningful and reflective World AIDS Day 2025.
