First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Urges Collective Action to Achieve Food Security in Nigeria
The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, has called on Nigerians to unite in addressing the challenges of hunger and malnutrition through collective efforts toward building a sustainable and food-secure nation.
In a message to mark this year’s World Food Day, themed “Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future,” Senator Tinubu emphasized that food security is a shared responsibility that requires active participation from individuals, communities, and governments.
She noted that the desired future — one free from hunger and malnutrition — is attainable if all stakeholders work together to transform food systems in ways that promote sustainable agriculture, reduce food waste, and ensure that every family in Nigeria has access to nutritious and affordable food.
“Let us commit to join hands today to build a nation where everyone is involved in the process of food production for a better, healthier, and more prosperous future for all,” the First Lady said.
She congratulated Nigerians on the commemoration of World Food Day, urging renewed partnerships and collective action to ensure a future where no one goes hungry.
