Imam Busseri Urges Nigerians to Demand Good Governance, Pray for National Unity

Nigerians, regardless of religious or ethnic background, have been urged to consistently demand good governance from political leaders at all levels across the country.

They were also enjoined to continue praying for the unity of Nigeria and for divine guidance for the nation’s leaders.

Imam Zhikirulahi Busseri of the Rahmat Islammiyah Society of Nigeria made the call during his sermon following the two-rakat Eid prayer held at Coker-Aguda, Surulere, Lagos.

Imam Busseri emphasized that Nigerians must not lose faith in the future of the country, stressing that building a better Nigeria is a collective responsibility.

He also advised the faithful to celebrate Sallah with moderation and avoid excessive merrymaking that could attract the wrath of Allah.

Some worshippers at the Eid prayer ground expressed gratitude to Allah for the gift of life and the opportunity to witness the beginning of another Islamic year. However, many also voiced concern over the rising cost of living in the country.
