PDP Crisis in Lagos: I’m Still the Party’s Gubernatorial Candidate in the State Until 2027 – Jandor
By Raheem Ibrahim
The 2023 governorship candidate for the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Mr Olajide Akanni Adediran aka Jandor has declared that he still remains the party candidate till 2027 when new congress will come up.
Addressing some elders of the party from all the 20 Local government councils in the state at Ikeja on Saturday, Jandor emphasized that nobody can remove him from the candidacy until when another party congress will hold in 2027.
Reacting to some insinuations that he is no more the party candidate and was in the PDP as a spy for APC, he declared, “The so-called leaders are those working against our party to the favor of the other party”.
“When I joined PDP in January 2022, I met three different strong groups that are working against the party for their personal gains. I went to their respective houses to resolve the lingering crisis and get winning for PDP in Lagos State but what they are after was to be in control of the party and use to negotiate with other party”, he revealed.
According to him, “My problem with them was because of my refusal to give them parts of the fund released by the National headquarters of the party before giving all to party State executive to be distributed to our members for the election”.
“All the character assassinations they are doing are meant to get support from innocent members when their hidden agenda exposed that they did anti-party in the last year general election”, he disclosed.
He however pleaded with the gathering at the stakeholders meeting to be steadfast by going to their respective local government and wards to open the mind of members on the need to be formidable so as to unseat the present State government come 2027.
Jandor also revealed that efforts are being made at the national and states level to redirect the party to its old formidable political know worldwide, “Insha Allah, things will be alright before the next election and we shall flush out pharaoh government”.
In his contribution, a political stalwart from Eti-osa, Mr Niyi Adam also revealed that the so called party leader connived with a defeated guber aspirant who later contested under the umbrella of Labour party to directed their supporters in the general election to vote against PDP.
The gathering was later turned to PDP elders forum where issues affecting the party will be discussed and proffer solutions to move forward.
Also among the party stalwarts at the gathering was Mr Benson and several others from all the local governments in the state.
