The Queen of Igbobi-Sabe in Lagos, Olori Mosunmola Anike Adeniyi has handed over a block of toilets and borehole she facilitated to pupils and teachers of Onayade Primary School, Jibowu in the Yaba Local Council Development Area of the state.
The handing over ceremony took place on Wednesday, 16 October, 2024.
The Chairman of Yaba LCDA, Honourable Omiyale Kayode Adejare cut the tape to officially put the toilets to use for pupils and teachers of the school.
He commended the Igbobi-Sabe Queen for the initiative noting that it would go a long way in improving the hygiene of the pupils.
“The Olori has been doing a lot for our students. This is another giant step in enhancing the lives of pupils and teachers. I want wealthy individuals to emulate her,” the council boss said.
The Onisabe of Igbobi-Sabe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Owolabi Adeyemi Adeniyi described his wife’s as her contribution to the development of the pupils and their teachers.
“Healthy hygiene is the key and with this, she is improving and enhancing the welfare of both pupils and teachers. It’s her own CSR and it’s highly commendable,” the Igbobi-Sabe monarch said.
Oba Adeniyi advised wealthy individuals and corporate organisations to join government in improving education.
“Government alone cannot do it. It should be a joint effort, let’s all contribute our own quota to the development and growth of the society,” he said.
Olori Mosunmola Anike Adeniyi expressed joy at the project becoming a reality.
“I was amazed when I was told that there is no toilet facility in the school, hence I took it upon myself to ensure that a toilet facility is provided,” she said.
Olori Mosunmola has always been involved in uplifting the students of the school. Earlier before this toilet project, she has been giving the pupils between the ages of four and eight years free lunch.
The toilet facility has six different toilets with ready made hand-washing facilities.
