LASTMA APPREHENDS RECKLESS DRIVER FOLLOWING SERIOUS ACCIDENT AT EWENLA/CHARITY, OSHODI, LAGOS

In a harrowing incident today, the driver of a Toyota Camry, with registration number KTU 447 EV, recklessly sped through a busy section of Ewenla/Charity near Oshodi, heading towards Mile 2. Tragically, the driver’s negligence resulted in the grievous injury of a pedestrian, who sustained severe bodily harm after being struck by the vehicle.

Quick-thinking officers of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) immediately arrived at the scene, rendering swift assistance to the injured individual. The victim, who suffered serious injuries to multiple parts of his body, was promptly rushed to Comfort Hospital in the Mafoluku area of Oshodi for urgent medical care.

The driver of the Toyota Camry was apprehended by LASTMA officers at the scene, and in accordance with due procedure, both the driver and the vehicle were handed over to officers from the Mafoluku Police Station for further investigation into the circumstances of the accident.

LASTMA authorities urged all road users to exercise caution and strictly adhere to traffic regulations, emphasizing the paramount importance of pedestrian and motorist safety.
