Agbado/Oke Odo LCDA Support 500 residents with #20,000 Poverty Alleviation Grant
The Chairman of Agbado/Oke Odo LCDA,Hon David Famuyiwa has renewed appeal on residents of the council and the country at large to be patient with the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
He expressed optimism that the people will experience relief at the end of the current hardship adding the President is on course to return the country to the good old days.
The council boss stated these during the 9th poverty Alleviation/ Cash suport o 500 residents held at the council Secretariat.
According to him, the President inherited a challenging economy that will take time to rectify.
The Chairman noted that the monthly #20,000 poverty Alleviation cannot go round millions of residents at the same time warning against those who want to deny others of the benefit.
He charged the beneficiaries to take full advantage of the support while commending them for peaceful conduct during the last nationwide hunger protest in the country.
The CDA Chairman, Ernest Kazumu said the people will begin to enjoy the dividends of democracy when several policies of the Tinubu Government matures.
He was of the view that the problem of the country started during the era of former Head of State, Yakubu Gowon when the county did not manage the oil boom well.
The community leader also cautioned Nigerians to stop saying negative words against the country adding America is great today because the citizens prays for it.
Also speaking, the CAN Chairman in Alimpsho, Pastor Timohty Owoeye want other Local Government to emulate Agbado Oke Odo in extending hands of fellowship to the people.
He lamented that the people of the West had abandoned Agriculture but prefers to wait for produce from the north adding the farners also faced insecurity and logistic challenges on the way.
The CAN Chairman want everyone to think of what they can contribute to make the country great again.
On his part, the Chief Imam of the area, Ahaji Raji Mehmud commended the council for priorizing the needs of the residents while soliciting the cooperation of the south west in support of the President to succeed.
The Babaloja of Agbado Oke Odo, Prince Abiodun Kosoko who expressed optimism that the future will be better for the country thanked Governor Sanwo-Olu for the return of Sunday Market known as Ounje Eko come September first.
On behalf of the Artisans community in the area, Mrs Ojebode Adedayo declared full support for the leadership of the council in implementing policies for the good of the residents.
She concluded that the Chairman had done well in infrastructural development and not just poverty Alleviation programme.
Most of the beneficiaries applauded the council leadership and promised judicious use of the fund.
