DSVA SGBV ADVOCACY CAMPAIGN AT IBA LCDA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL
The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, (DSVA) took SGBV advocacy to Iba LCDA Community Development Council on the 22nd of August, 2024.
The Executive Secretary, of Lagos DSVA, Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi averred that reaching the Communities for collaborative efforts in the fight against all forms of abuses and violence remains crucial and cannot be undermined.
Community Department Officials who represented the Executive Secretary said the Agency is ensuring that the State Government’s resolve to rid the State of SGBV menace remains unwavering.
The participants were exposed to the various support services the State Government provided freely for the Lagosians, ranging from medical, legal services, empowerment, psycho-social support, law enforcement, as well as other partner agencies whose services can be accessed freely at the Agency.
The community leaders were encouraged to join the State government in the fight against SGBV by exposing perpetrators, bring them to Justice and create a safe society for all and the need to report through official toll-free line- 08000333333 of any form of abuse occurring in their domain.
She also stressed that prompt reporting is sacrosanct to evidence gathering and urged the leaders to ensure timely reports of such incidences.
The Iba CDC Secretary, represented by the CDC chairman, Mr. Agbogunleri Damilare Thomas, who was among the 200 leaders who participated, appreciated the agency for the initiative.
