CHAIRMAN, MATORI, FARMERS COOPERATIVE ASSOCIATION (FCA), COMRADE MICHAEL POPOOLA AJAYI, EXPRESSES GRATITUDE FOR AGRICULTURAL INPUTS AND PRODUCTIVE ASSETS DISTRIBUTION TO OVER 10,000 FARMERS IN LAGOS
The Chairman of the Matori, Farmers Cooperative Association (FCA), Comrade Michael Popoola Ajayi, has expressed his profound gratitude to the Federal Government of Nigeria, the Lagos State Governor, the Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems, and Mr. Ade Obayemi, the Lagos State FADAMA Coordinator for their commitment to enhancing food security and empowering farmers across the state through the distribution of agricultural inputs and productive assets to over 10,000 farmers, including members of the Matori FCA.
The Chairman praised the initiative, noting that the timely distribution of these essential farming tools and inputs will significantly bolster food production efforts in the state and further strengthen the agricultural sector. He specifically acknowledged the relentless support of the Lagos State Governor and the Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems, who have consistently advocated for the upliftment of farmers in Lagos and have ensured that farmers like those in the Matori FCA are not left behind.
Speaking on behalf of the Matori FCA members, Mr. Ajayi stated: “This support could not have come at a better time. We are extremely grateful to the Federal Government for prioritizing agriculture and recognizing the vital role farmers play in the nation’s development. The efforts of the Lagos State Governor and the Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems are laudable, and we appreciate their dedication to ensuring that farming communities across the state, including those in Mushin and other parts of Lagos, have access to the tools they need to thrive.”
Mr. Ajayi also commended Mr. Ade Obayemi for his leadership and unwavering commitment to the success of the program. “Mr. Ade Obayemi’s leadership and contribution to the smooth execution of this initiative have been instrumental in ensuring its success. We applaud his tireless efforts and express our sincere appreciation for his hard work in ensuring that the program reached the grassroots level,” he added.
The distribution of agricultural inputs and productive assets is expected to significantly increase the productivity of farmers, improve food security, and provide sustainable livelihoods for the beneficiaries. The Matori FCA is optimistic that this initiative will help reduce the challenges faced by farmers and contribute to the overall economic development of Lagos State and the country at large.
Mr. Ajayi reiterated that the Matori FCA remains committed to ensuring the effective utilization of the distributed inputs and assets for increased agricultural productivity. He assured the government and other stakeholders that the association would continue to contribute positively to the agricultural sector and sustain the trust placed in them.
Concluding, the Chairman expressed optimism that this partnership between the government and farmers would continue to grow, enabling further support and development in the agricultural sector.
