Residents of Coker-Aguda LCDA commends Sanwo-Olu for smooth take off of Sunday Market initiative
Residents of Coker-Aguda LCDA have commended the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the smooth take off of the Sunday Market with the purspose of selling staple food items at a discounted prices to residents.
The Sunday Market that is holding simultaneously across Local Government Areas in the five Divisions of the state provides opportunity for residents to purchase the items at 25% discount.
Aguda Community Grammar school on Brown Road in the area witnessed a large turn out of residents who called for continuity of the programme.
While speaking at the venue of the Sunday Market programme, the council chairman, Hon Rasaq Olalekan said that the initiative was designed by the Governor to ameliorate the suffering of residents of the state.
According to him, measures have been put in place to guide against those with the intention of buying in large quantity to resell the items.
He disclosed that residents of the council without LASRRA cards should not entertain any fear adding that a make shift registration centre has been provided at the venue.
The council chairman noted that adequate security is also on ground to prevent breakdown of law and order among residents who have turned out for the Sunday Market.
Food itmes purchased at 25% discount rates with the Cowry and ATM cards include Rice, Beans, Garri, Tomato, Pepper, Egg, Semovita and Bread.
