Iheanacho continues fine form as Leicester City down Swansea
Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho secured the last goal for Leicester City as they won 3-1 against Swansea City last Saturday, Punch Online reports.
Iheanacho delivered a stunning goal for Nigeria in their 2-2 tie against Saudi Arabia in the recent international break.
Nevertheless, when Leicester City visited Swansea, he began the game as a substitute.
On the other hand, his Nigerian counterpart, Wilfred Ndidi, maintained his position in the midfield. Leicester City had a tough start as they conceded a goal from Matt Grimes just 20 minutes into the match.
However, they made a comeback shortly before the halftime break, thanks to a goal from Jannik Vestergaard. Subsequently, in the 63rd minute, Leicester City seized the lead with a goal from Issahaku Fatawu.
Iheanacho entered the game as a substitute in the 83rd minute, and he wasted no time in making his presence known, finding the net in the 87th minute.
Receiving a midfield pass, he sprinted forward, facing two defenders and nearly losing possession. Fortunately, he managed to score, securing a 3-1 lead for the former Premier League champions.
Leicester City maintained this lead, keeping them at the top of the Championship table.
Iheanacho has now accumulated five goals in the current Championship season.
