Hardship in Nigeria: Civil societies stage protest, seek urgent solutions by governments
Perturbed by the hardship most Nigerians are battling, the Osun Civil Societies Coalition on Monday embarked on a peaceful protest.
The ongoing protest in Osogbo is being led by the chairman of the coalition, Waheed Lawal.
The protesters, who carried banners and placards, condemning the suffering of the masses as a result of fuel subsidy removal by the Federal Government, demanded urgent solutions to address the challenges.
They bemoaned economic hardship, commercialisation of education, non-provision of palliatives, fuel subsidy removal, hike in electricity tariff and growing insecurity.
The rally began at the popular Ayetoro junction at 8:00 am and is expected to terminate at the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park.
