RESOLUTION OF THE MEETING OF THE CHAIRMEN’S FORUM OF THE NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA

BEING THE RESOLUTION OF THE MEETING OF THE CHAIRMEN’S FORUM OF THE NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA (NYCN),
SOUTHWEST ZONE, TODAY 7th July 2024 @ GLAMOUR HALL, UTAKO, ABUJA, NIGERIA.

Preamble.

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) is the apex body saddled with the responsibility of overseeing all youth organizations that are affiliated members of the Council.

The Forum of Chairmen of the Southwest Zone comprises of State Chairmen of the six states that made up the Southwest Region, namely; Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti States.

After much deliberations on issues of National interests as it affects the day to day activities of Nigerians living in the region, the Forum resolves as follows;

1. The Forum congratulates the Executive Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency Gov. Dapo Abiodun on his emergence as the Chairman of the Southern Governor’s Forum, as we charge the Governor to use his good office to address issues related to the welfarism and security of the Southern Region.

2. The Forum also congratulates and adopt the newly elected Chairman of Lagos State Chapter of the Council, as well wish the outgone Chairman the very best in his future endeavors.

3. The Forum congratulates Hon. Shonibare Ololade, a worthy stakeholder of the Council from Lagos State on his emergence as the Chairman of the NYCN National Advisory Council of the organization, appreciates the National President for the well deserved consideration.

4. The Forum charges all Southwest Governors to be proactive on the outbreak of the cholera disease, commends the efforts of all Southwest Governors for the current state of managing the outbreak.

5. The Forum agrees to use all available legal means to uphold the mandate of State Chairmen of Osun, Ondo and Ekiti, call on the National President to initiate a legal action against those factionalizing the organization at State level, warns Government against sponsoring of factions in the above mentioned states.

6. The Forum agrees to rotate her meetings across the six states of the zone within three months, as the Forum is set to commence a leadership conference in each state of the Southwest Region.
