Residents of Eti Osa LG Promise Continued Support as Council Splashes N15m on Youths, Traders, Elderly, and Widows
Residents of Eti Osa Local Government Area have reaffirmed their support and commitment to the smooth implementation of people-oriented projects by the current administration. They have also pledged to fulfill their rightful obligations to the council, including payment of taxes, levies, and promoting peaceful coexistence.
These promises were made during the cash palliative distribution of about ₦15m to 200 residents, including youth entrepreneurs, traders, the elderly, and widows, held at the council Secretariat in Igbo Efon, Eti Osa.
During the distribution of the funds, the council boss, Honorable Saheed Bankole, stated that the gesture was driven by the desire to continually enhance the well-being of the residents. He emphasized that the palliative would not compromise the delivery of other essential social infrastructure such as roads, medical care, and education. Additionally, he highlighted the council’s efforts in establishing vocational centers to equip residents who are unable to pursue further education with skills to become self-reliant.
Vice Chairman Omo Oba Adeola Adetoro disclosed that the beneficiaries, representing diverse religious and ethnic backgrounds, were carefully selected based on merit.
Some beneficiaries, including Prince Olusesi Olakunle and Bello Babatunde, expressed their commitment to utilizing the funds judiciously to boost the socio-economic development of the area.
