AKOD Leads Ikeja’s Participation in Lagos Monthly Sanitation Exercise
The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Hon. Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), on Saturday led members of the council’s executive team, legislators and staff in the Lagos State Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise across various wards in Ikeja.
The exercise involved the clearing of blocked drainage channels, removal of refuse and cleaning of public spaces, with sanitation personnel and other relevant stakeholders joining the council team.

Leading from the front, Dauda personally participated in the cleanup, underscoring his administration’s commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy environment across Ikeja.
Speaking during the exercise, the chairman said environmental sanitation remained a collective responsibility, urging residents to support the council’s efforts by maintaining proper waste disposal practices and keeping their surroundings clean.
He said, “A cleaner Ikeja begins with all of us. As a council, we will continue to lead by example and take practical steps to protect the environment and promote the wellbeing of our residents.”
The exercise further demonstrated the administration’s commitment to environmental cleanliness, public health and responsible citizenship, while reinforcing the importance of active leadership in addressing issues that directly affect the quality of life of residents.
