ORILE-AGEGE LCDA SWEARS IN SLG, SUPERVISORS AS CHAIRMAN CHARGES THEM ON SELFLESS SERVICE, PEOPLE-CENTRED GOVERNANCE

The Executive Chairman of Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Akinola Abiodun Idowu, has charged the newly inaugurated Secretary to the Local Government (SLG) Supervisors and the Special Advisers to embrace selfless service, uphold accountability, and remain committed to delivering people-centred governance.

The Chairman gave the charge during the swearing-in ceremony held on Friday, July 31, 2026, at the Council Secretariat, Orile-Agege.

While addressing the appointees, Hon. Idowu described their appointments as a call to duty, urging them to justify the confidence reposed in them through dedication, integrity, and responsive leadership.
“Today is not merely about taking an oath of office; it is about accepting responsibility. It is about committing yourselves to selfless service and dedicating your efforts to the continued growth and development of Orile-Agege,” he said.

While congratulating the new officials, the Chairman expressed confidence in their ability to contribute meaningfully to the administration’s vision and urged them to remain accessible to residents while ensuring government programmes have a positive impact on the people.

Reflecting on the administration’s first year in office, Hon. Idowu highlighted significant strides in infrastructure, education, healthcare, environmental sanitation, youth development, and economic empowerment, noting that these interventions have continued to improve the quality of life across the LCDA.

While acknowledging that more work remains, he reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustainable development, transparency, and inclusive governance. He also reminded the newly sworn-in officials that true leadership is defined by service, humility, integrity, and the positive impact made on the lives of the people.
