The reconciliation was achieved through the intervention of the national body of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), led by its National President, Alhaji AbdulMalik Ayo Abdulmumini.
It was reliably gathered that the Union, on Tuesday, held separate peace meetings with Sheikh Habibullahi Adam Al-Ilory, OON, Mudir of Markaz, and Sheikh Sulaiman Faruq Onikijipa, OON, the 4th Grand Mufti of Ilorin Emirate, where both clerics pledged to allow peace to reign.
Confirming the development, the National Publicity Secretary of IEDPU, Alhaji Nurudeen Ibrahim, stated that both scholars expressed their readiness to embrace peace following the Emir’s message delivered through the Union.
According to him, “The body met with the duo separately, and they assured us of their commitment to peace, especially after the Emir’s message was conveyed to them.”
He added that the scholars reaffirmed their respect for the Emir of Ilorin and promised to uphold unity and harmony within the Ilorin Emirate community.
Among the eminent personalities who accompanied the IEDPU National President were the Union’s Vice President, General Secretary, Public Relations Officer, and two other executive members.
