GBAJA/FKL Group Drums Support for Gbajabiamila’s 2027 Lagos Bid, Hails Tinubu for Chief of Staff Appointment

Members of a political group in Surulere known as GBAJA/FKL have expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the privilege granted to Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila to serve the nation in a high capacity as Chief of Staff.

They also declared their readiness to support Gbajabiamila should he be offered the opportunity to serve the people of Lagos State at the highest level during the 2027 general elections.

The President of the group, Olanrewaju Giwa, made this known during a public lecture organized to commemorate the 63rd birthday of Femi Gbajabiamila, held at Rabiat Thompson Primary School, Shitta, Surulere, Lagos.

He explained that their decision to present Gbajabiamila for the number one seat in Lagos come 2027 is based on his verified and enviable achievements in Surulere across all sectors, including health, education, scholarships, business grants, roads, solar power infrastructure, computer training, and direct empowerment of thousands of residents.

Giwa, who is also one of the APC leaders in the area, urged residents to shun violence and come out en masse to exercise their franchise in the forthcoming July 12th council elections in the state.

In his lecture, Prof. Abdur Rasheed Ojikutu stated that Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has demonstrated that the essence of holding public office is to render selfless service to the people.

Prof. Ojikutu, who is the first professor appointed in the Department of Actuarial Science and Insurance at the University of Lagos, urged Gbajabiamila not to relent, emphasizing that this is a time when the people—especially the less privileged—need him the most.

He also encouraged other politicians, even beyond Surulere, to emulate Gbajabiamila’s exemplary leadership in addressing the yearnings of the people.

On his part, Chief Hakeem Oladipo Ojora noted that Femi Gbajabiamila deserves to be celebrated because of his outstanding contributions to the socio-economic development of Surulere.

According to him, the group is ready to showcase Gbajabiamila to the world and take pride in his track record, adding that his name reflects his character.

Chief Ojora concluded by saying that the former Speaker of the House of Representatives always remembers and gives back regularly to the people he once represented.

Adding her voice, Yetunde Shodipo, the Secretary General of the group, disclosed that the Chief of Staff to the President does not discriminate when extending support to residents of Surulere.

According to her, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has also made it a point of duty to provide social infrastructure and empowerment to residents in other local governments across the state.
