Members of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD) have commended Nigeria\u2019s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for the reintroduction of the Alternative High School for Girls.<\/p>\n

They described it as a strategic intervention with the potential to shift the balance in favor of women\u2019s empowerment.<\/span><\/p>\n

This recognition was given during a high-level dinner focused on empowering Africa\u2019s future through education, hosted by OAFLAD in partnership with TheirWorld<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The African First Ladies in attendance highlighted that through education, girls and women would be better positioned for increased productivity and enhanced societal value.<\/span><\/p>\n

The dinner, organized in collaboration with TheirWorld<\/b>\u2014an initiative led by former UK First Lady Sarah Brown\u2014also acknowledged the significant interventions by Nigeria\u2019s First Lady in education and child birth registration.<\/span><\/p>\n

Further discussions on Senator Tinubu\u2019s contributions in the areas of education, women empowerment, and health are scheduled as her engagements at the UNGA continue.<\/span><\/p>\n
