The volunteers ensured that the victims received timely and much-needed sustenance. The flood, which has affected an estimated one million people across northern Nigeria, has submerged half of Maiduguri and displaced more than 400,000 people from their homes.<\/p>\n<p>Victims at the Baga Road IDP Centre expressed their gratitude to Humanity First Nigeria for the relief, but also appealed for further assistance in the form of essential supplies such as mats, mattresses, and business support for those whose livelihoods have been destroyed by the floods.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-9722 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/thenewsnow.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/b11449ce-0adb-491a-86c9-c10296da7751-300x200.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thenewsnow.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/b11449ce-0adb-491a-86c9-c10296da7751-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/thenewsnow.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/b11449ce-0adb-491a-86c9-c10296da7751-1024x683.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/thenewsnow.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/b11449ce-0adb-491a-86c9-c10296da7751-768x512.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/thenewsnow.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/b11449ce-0adb-491a-86c9-c10296da7751-640x427.jpeg 640w, https:\/\/thenewsnow.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/b11449ce-0adb-491a-86c9-c10296da7751.jpeg 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Mr. Abdul-Rafi, while addressing the victims, emphasized that the organization remains committed to alleviating their suffering. &#8220;Humanity First Nigeria, in collaboration with Humanity First International and our global partners like Humanity First Canada, will continue to provide relief and stand with the flood victims in this difficult time,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>The flood disaster, one of the worst in the region in recent years, has drawn attention from international organizations and humanitarian bodies.
