Re-elected As Oyo Governor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">The Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday declared the Oyo State Governor and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Seyi Makinde, as the winner of Saturday\u2019s governorship election in the state.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The state Resident Electoral Commission, Tella Adeniran, declared Makinde the winner of the poll on Sunday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Makinde polled 563,756 votes to defeat Folarin who scored 256,685 votes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Makinde, who was seeking re-election, on Saturday, contested against a three-term Senator, Teslim Folarin of All Progressives Congress and Adebayo Adelabu of Accord Party, who was former deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The announcement of the results was monitored by the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Tella Adeniran, alongside the state returning officer, a professor from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Olusola Kehinde, and heads of security apparatus in the state.<\/span><\/p>\n<p
