One can spend several hours going round the park and reliving memorable moments of the 1996 Games particularly when some Nigerian athletes shone like a million stars and left indelible marks in Olympic history.<\/p>\n<p>So, if you ever go to the Olympic Centennial Park, downtown Atlanta, ensure that you locate the reconstructed walls that carry the names of all the Olympic Medallists at the Games, monuments for all ages.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-9114 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/thenewsnow.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/bbf42bf3-0e3e-41a3-a21c-45a6ddbceef4-225x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thenewsnow.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/bbf42bf3-0e3e-41a3-a21c-45a6ddbceef4-225x300.jpeg 225w, https:\/\/thenewsnow.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/bbf42bf3-0e3e-41a3-a21c-45a6ddbceef4-768x1024.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/thenewsnow.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/bbf42bf3-0e3e-41a3-a21c-45a6ddbceef4-640x853.jpeg 640w, https:\/\/thenewsnow.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/bbf42bf3-0e3e-41a3-a21c-45a6ddbceef4.jpeg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The idea of the beautiful, newly constructed \u2018NIIA Wall of Fame\u2019 funded by AirPeace Airline within the premises of the Nigeria Institute of International Affairs in Lagos, Nigeria, came from the Atlanta model called the \u2018Leaves of Honour\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The walls are tucked away in a beautiful corner of the huge Park in Atlanta, surrounded by gentle water fountains and a decorated sitting area for guests that may come and take their time sifting through the names of the sports heroes.<\/p>\n<p>It took a little while for me to locate the walls, as well as the names, now slightly faded as a result of wear and tear.
