Nigerian journalist and author Adeola Agoro has announced the premiere of her much-anticipated film, \u201cOkikiola The Fisherman,\u201d set for August 2, 2024 at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, Garki, Abuja. Known for her dedication to promoting the Nigerian culture, Agoro\u2019s latest cinematic endeavor promises to be both enchanting and culturally rich.<\/p>\n

\u201cOkikiola The Fisherman\u201d tells a compelling story of love, greed, resilience, deceit, and the dangers of making wrong decisions. Agoro highlighted the film\u2019s intent to not only entertain but also to celebrate and preserve the unique traditions and beliefs of Osun. \u201cThe movie is a cinematic masterpiece that highlights the beauty and significance of our original religion, capturing both rural and urban locations, the essence of our people, history, and folklore,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n

The premiere is a tribute to the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, for his invaluable support during the movie\u2019s post-production. \u201cWhen his attention was drawn to this culturally significant movie, Governor Ademola Adeleke became a champion of arts and culture by supporting it. So, I decided to honor him at the premiere as a way of thanking him and the Osun State government for their contribution to preserving our cultural heritage,\u201d Agoro said.<\/p>\n

Governor Adeleke\u2019s involvement has brought international attention to the film, attracting audiences from diverse backgrounds. Thirteen foreigners from the US, Mexico, Spain, and Venezuela are set to make grand appearances at the premiere, showcasing their embrace of Yoruba culture by dancing to traditional songs and speaking the native language.<\/p>\n
