The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) met with members of Ojodu LCDA’s Community Development Committee (CDC) at their monthly meeting on July 9, 2024, to further propagate the message against sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV).<\/p>\n

In keeping with the agency’s mission to eradicate SGBV, the Executive Secretary, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, emphasized the importance of ongoing communication with CDAs. She highlighted that concealing a sexual offense is punishable under the law and could result in a three-year jail term. She urged participants to report such incidents promptly to ensure justice is served to perpetrators of SGBV crimes.<\/p>\n

Pastor Segun Fayemi, Chairman of the CDC, welcomed the visiting delegation and outlined the organization’s goals. He expressed gratitude to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his leadership and promised the community leaders’ ongoing assistance in eradicating the menace of SGBV.<\/p>\n

The agency’s Community Engagement Representative, Ms. Opemipo Ogunse, briefed participants on the severity of sexual and gender-based violence and outlined the reporting guidelines. She described the agency’s services, the cooperation with the Police Family Support Unit (FSU), and the appropriate reporting procedures.<\/p>\n
