As Nigeria’s First Lady’s RHI Food Outreach moves to Nassarawa State, the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated its commitment to supporting and encouraging Nigerians, families, and vulnerable communities.<\/p>\n

First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, stated this in Lafia, Nassarawa State, at the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Food Outreach Scheme. <\/span><\/p>\n

Represented by the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, the First Lady appreciated the people for believing in the administration and the cause of the Renewed Hope Initiative.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The Food Outreach Scheme is specially designed to provide support to the underprivileged, in line with the resolve of the administration of His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to leave no one behind in ensuring food security and sufficiency in the country.” <\/span><\/p>\n

Under this scheme, a trailer load of assorted food items is being donated to state governments for onward distribution to identified groups, courtesy of a notable and public-spirited industry that has made a commitment to make the food items available on a monthly basis.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the First Lady, the Food Outreach, targeted at Internally Displaced Persons, Persons with Disabilities, Leper Colonies, and other vulnerable groups, will be taken around the country to ease access to food.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSo far, the Federal Capital Territory, Kano, and now Nassarawa states have benefited from the scheme under the Social Investment Programme of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI). By the grace of God, our next stop will be in Benue State, while other states will also benefit in due course.”<\/span><\/p>\n

\nIn addition to the Social Investment programme, the Renewed Hope Initiative also has other programmes focusing on health, agriculture, education, and economic empowerment to better the lives of families in the nation. So far, RHI has:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7Donated agricultural implements and provided financial support to women farmers.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7Awarded several scholarships to students in tertiary institutions.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7Provided ICT training for women.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7Offered financial support to the elderly.<\/span><\/p>\n

Amongst many other initiatives.<\/span><\/p>\n

She also announced the addition of 1,200 bags of rice to the food packs that would be given to the groups. Not only this, the First Lady disclosed that the Renewed Hope Initiative will soon commence the disbursement of N50,000 grants to 1,000 female petty traders in each state and the FCT.<\/span><\/p>\n

In his remarks, the Nassarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, who was represented by his deputy, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, noted that caring for women, youth, and children has become the hallmark of the First Lady’s RHI, thereby bringing succor to all. He appreciated the gesture, saying, “This is indeed a great relief.” <\/span><\/p>\n

“Deliver our message to the President, deliver our message to the First Lady. We are behind them, we appreciate them, and we say, ‘Well done’.”<\/span><\/p>\n

In her remarks, the Wife of the Nassarawa State Governor, Hajia Silifat Abdullahi Sule, noted that the Food Outreach is evidence that the vulnerable groups are not forgotten, but are cared for and are important to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. <\/span><\/p>\n
