A leader in the Muslim community in Lagos State, Hon. Oyinlomo Danmole, has appealed to the striking labor union to suspend their action in the overall interest of Nigerians.<\/p>\n
He also requests that the labor union return to the negotiation table with the federal government, as there have been positive results in their demand for a new minimum wage in the recent past.<\/p>\n
In a statement released in Lagos, Hon. Danmole urged the federal government and its negotiating team to demonstrate sincerity of purpose in order to reach an amicable resolution to the impasse.<\/p>\n
Danmole, who is the Mogaji Adinni of Lagos and Baba Adini of Surulere, regretted that the first day of the strike had caused a major setback in the aviation sector, with some flights to Saudi Arabia for the Hajj exercise being disrupted. He also expressed concern that this month’s Eid-el Kabir celebration is under threat.<\/p>\n
He further expressed worry that the strike had thrown the nation into total darkness, thereby paralyzing socio-economic activities.<\/p>\n
Hon. Danmole believes that joint efforts should be prioritized to restore the nation’s economy and prevent anything that could further inflict hardship on innocent Nigerians.<\/p>\n
According to him, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu must urgently and personally intervene in the matter, as he has done with other national issues.<\/p>\n
