<\/p>\nThe Executive chairman,Hon. (Princess) Rasheedat Abiodun Adu graciously commissioned industrial borehole at Bonny Cantonment, Victoria Island LCDA on Tuesday, 5th September, 2023.<\/p>\n

Hon. Adu stated that water intervention project was initiated by the His Excellency, The Governor of Lagos State,Mr Babajide Olushola Sanwo Olu and Iru Victoria Island LCDA ensures it’s completion. <\/span><\/p>\n This is fulfilment of the implementation of the Six- point agenda termed\u00a0 <\/span>T. H.E.M.E.S.<\/span><\/p>\n The Council Boss\u00a0 <\/span>paid a courtesy visit to the Commandant, Lt. Col. Mohammed A Lawal in his office,Bonny Cantonment, Victoria Island. She admonished the Commandant as a pillar of security in the environment.<\/span><\/p>\n In appreciation of the Chairman’s magnanimous consideration and identification of water project to the cantonment, the Commandant presented a humanitarian service Award( plaque) to the Executive Chairman.<\/span><\/p>\n The Head of Administration, Mrs Tokunbo Ogabi on behalf of the Local Government chief acknowledged the kind gesture and presentation of the award.she, therefore, said this will further spur her to embark more on people oriented projects and programs to the community.<\/span><\/p>\n Afterwards, the Commandant led the Chairman and the Entourage to commission the water project. The APC,LGA Chairman,Alh. Muniru Kokoroowo cut the tape while Hon. Adu handed over the key of the borehole to the Lt. Col.Mohammed Lawal for use and proper security and maintenance.<\/span><\/p>\n Speaking at the event, Princess Adu informed the new Commandant that the Local Government has done a lot for the Cantonment- renovation of Bonny Cantonment Primary School, distribution of learning materials, presentation of palliative packages to their Community members and many more. <\/span><\/p>\n In the same vein,she charged the Community womenfolk to regards the children in the community as gifts from God. And as precious stones they need right mentoring, guidance, guard and support all the time.<\/span><\/p>\n According to her, support does not necessarily need to be in terms of money and that advice to encourage them to imbibe the culture of good virtues and values of an ideal society is of utmost importance.<\/span><\/p>\n Finally after handing over the key of\u00a0 <\/span>the highly protected and barricaded borehole to the Cammandant she told the people that it is ” Commonwealth” project and from today water challenge will be history.<\/span><\/p>\n The Commandant, Bonny Cantonment,Lt. Col. Mohammed A Lawal,in response, enlightened the August visitors about his areas of jurisdictions or coverage areas of operations- Ikoyi, Ajah,Ibeju Lekki,, Victoria Island,Falomo et Al.<\/span><\/p>\n He appealed to the Chairman and Community members to always feel free to approach the Cantonment if there is any security need. <\/span><\/p>\n While relating with the visiting team,he told them that his patrol men\u00a0 <\/span>have successfully addressed traffic gridlock along Epe- Lagos Expressway through stationing patrol vehicles at strategic locations. Of recent, the joint operations by the army and NDLA personnel arrested drug barons and disguised dispatch riders.<\/span><\/p>\n On the Entourage were, the Leader of the House,Hon. Aminat Alabi and other Councillors:SLG,Hon. Murisiku Adetunji Ajasa with the Executive Members.
