<\/p>\nThe Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Ikeja Branch, has reaffirmed its commitment to professional excellence, collaboration and social responsibility through a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) outreach and a courtesy visit to the Acting Auditor-General for Lagos State, Dr. Olufunke Omolara Tayo-Makanjuola.<\/p>\n
The branch chairman, Mr. Ekundayo Omitaomu, FCNA, disclosed this during the association\u2019s courtesy visit to Dr. Tayo-Makanjuola to congratulate her on her well-deserved appointment.<\/p>\n

Mr. Omitaomu commended the Acting Auditor-General\u2019s professional accomplishments and wished her success in her new position.
\nThe visit followed the branch\u2019s CSR outreach to Babs Salam Orphanage Home, where foodstuffs and household items were donated under its ANAN Cares initiative, themed \u201cShaping Lasting Impacts Through Accountable Leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n
The outreach formed part of a nationwide CSR exercise conducted simultaneously across ANAN branches. It reflected the association\u2019s commitment to extending its core values of accountability, integrity and service beyond the accounting profession to make a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable members of society.<\/p>\n
While expressing his gratitude to the association’s gift items, Director of Babs Salam Orphanage Home,
\nAlhaji Hassan Idris Tahir said that the gift items would go a long way in catering for the needs of the orphanage students.<\/p>\n
In her remarks, Dr. Tayo-Makanjuola expressed delight at receiving the delegation, describing the visit by the association\u2019s elders and members as a great honour. She thanked them for taking the time to celebrate her appointment, noting that the gesture was particularly significant given her professional affiliation with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).<\/p>\n
The Acting Auditor-General paid glowing tribute to one of ANAN\u2019s elders, Mr. Oladimeji, whom she described as a father figure who had played a significant role in her professional journey and contributed immensely to her career advancement.
\nShe acknowledged his generosity and positive influence on auditors and accountants, stressing that his contributions and professional legacy continued to benefit practitioners in the field.<\/p>\n
Dr. Tayo-Makanjuola emphasised the importance of unity and collaboration among accounting professionals, irrespective of their affiliations or whether they worked primarily as accountants or auditors. She noted that both groups needed one another to achieve their collective objectives and urged members to uphold the highest standards of professionalism in the discharge of their duties.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Mr. Omitaomu commended the Acting Auditor-General for suspending protocol, explaining that the primary purpose of the visit was to congratulate her on her appointment. He also conveyed the goodwill of ANAN\u2019s national leadership.<\/p>\n
The branch chairman recalled that, while reviewing the branch\u2019s records during his tenure as secretary, he discovered that Dr. Tayo-Makanjuola had previously served as chairman of the branch\u2019s Dinner Committee. He described her tenure as one of the branch\u2019s most successful, highlighting her longstanding contributions to the association.<\/p>\n
Mr. Omitaomu further appealed for greater opportunities for members who had not previously attended the association\u2019s conferences to participate, while acknowledging the support extended to members by the Office of the Auditor-General.<\/p>\n
As part of the branch\u2019s recommendations, he requested that two officials be nominated to represent the Office of the Auditor-General at ANAN Ikeja Branch. In response, the Acting Auditor-General nominated Mrs. Oyaleke Feyikemi and Mr. Tokunbo Raheem.

Tayo-Makanjuola to the branch\u2019s Dinner and Award Night, scheduled for December 4, 2026, at Marquee Hall. He disclosed that the chairman of the Dinner Committee and other committee members would formally present the invitation and accompanying letter to her.<\/p>\n
During the visit, elders of the association took turns to congratulate the Acting Auditor-General on her achievements and offer prayers for wisdom, strength and success in her new position.<\/p>\n
