\u2026Donates fully equipped ICT Classroom to Layeni Junior Secondary School<\/b><\/p>\n
The Association of Lagos State Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries(ALARHOSPS) has announced a series of activities to mark its Y2026 annual Association Week, designed to promote community development, education, healthy living, philanthropy, social responsibility and peaceful coexistence.<\/p>\n
The week-long celebration, scheduled to hold from Wednesday 23rd September, 2026 to Sunday 27th September, 2026 will bring together members of the Association, community leaders, religious leaders, educators, students, families, friends and other stakeholders.<\/p>\n
According to the President of the Association,Otunba Nurudeen Ojora- Adejiyan, the celebration is not intended to be merely ceremonial but to demonstrate the Association’s commitment to making a practical and positive impact on society.<\/p>\n
The programme will feature a number of activities, including:<\/p>\n
1.Donations of double Bed Bunks, beddings, mattresses, pillows, and other essential items to Chosen Orphanage and Child Care Centre, Gaskiya, Ijora Badia to support the welfare and wellbeing of the children.
\nThe outreach will provide an opportunity for members to interact with the children, share moments of love and encouragement and demonstrate the Association’s commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society.<\/p>\n
2. Donation of an Airconditioned ICT Classroom and fully Equipped Classroom with 32 Desktop Computers and other ICT Facilities with Solar power as back up to Layeni Junior Secondary School, Itire Ajegunle,
\nwhich is part of its commitment to education and youth development.
\nThis intervention is aimed at improving access to digital learning, enhancing teaching and learning, promoting technological literacy, and equipping students with skills relevant to the modern economy.
\nThe facilities will be formally presented and commissioned during the Association Week.<\/p>\n
3. Walk for Fitness and Health Talk
\nThe Association will also organise a Walk for Fitness and Health Awareness, bringing members together to promote physical activity and healthy living.
\nThe walk will be followed by a health talk delivered by qualified health professionals on issues relating to preventive healthcare, healthy lifestyles, fitness, and general wellbeing.
\nMembers will also have the opportunity to receive practical advice on maintaining healthier lifestyles.<\/p>\n
4. Muslim Prayer Service
\nA special Muslim Prayer Service will equally be held as part of the week’s activities.
\nThe programme is designed to provide Muslim members and guests with an opportunity for prayer, thanksgiving, and spiritual reflection.<\/p>\n
5.Christian Thanksgiving\/Service
\nThe Association Week will be rounded up with a Christian Service\/Thanksgiving, providing Christian members and invited guests with an opportunity to give thanks, pray and reflect on the Association’s activities and achievements.
\nThe service will also provide an opportunity to seek divine guidance and blessings for members, their families and the wider community.<\/p>\n
The inclusion of both Christian and Muslim activities reflects the Association’s commitment to religious harmony, mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and unity.<\/p>\n
Otunba Ojora-Adejiyan emphasised that this year’s celebration is anchored on the principles of service, compassion, education, healthy living, unity and community development.<\/p>\n
The programme has been deliberately structured to combine social activities with initiatives that provide tangible benefits to individuals and communities.<\/p>\n
