Abuja is Nigeria\u2019s diplomatic and administrative centre, where all thirty-six states meet. Therefore, its City Gate is one of the first major impressions of the city. It welcomes visitors, reflects the character of our people, and communicates the pride our nation takes in its capital.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis newly remodeled Abuja City Gate, with its beautiful water fountain representing the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, tells every visitor and Nigerian arriving from the airport that they have entered a city built on unity, diversity, and shared aspirations. This City Gate can proudly stand side by side with notable gateways and public monuments in many cities around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The President, through Nigeria\u2019s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, said the remodeled City Gate is a towering monument to Nigeria\u2019s unity in diversity, commemorating the third anniversary of his administration and the 50th anniversary of the Federal Capital Territory.<\/p>\n<p>While appreciating the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Nyesom Wike, for the project, the President called on residents of the city to protect the iconic public infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Nyesom Wike, praised the President\u2019s representative, the First Lady, whom he credited with the idea that inspired the transformation of the City Gate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat is the role of the First Lady? It is to fill the gaps where necessary.
