A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos and governorship aspirant, Dr. Samuel Mawuyon Ajose, has said that his ambition to govern the state is not driven by personal gain but by the collective interest of the people of Badagry.<\/p>\n
He, however, made it clear that he would run an all-inclusive government that directly touches the lives of residents, ensuring that no part of the state is left behind if given the mandate.<\/p>\n
Dr. Ajose made this known while featuring on a live radio programme, Gbagede Oro Special Edition, on Rainbow 94.1 FM.<\/p>\n
He explained that he has nothing personal against the Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Hamzat, but expects the leadership of the party to reach out to other aspirants in the race before making any endorsement.<\/p>\n
The business mogul-turned-politician also questioned why some elders and leaders of the party, who had earlier consulted with him on his ambition, encouraged him to proceed, only to later endorse the Deputy Governor.<\/p>\n
Dr. Ajose assured that he would accept defeat in good faith if the Deputy Governor emerges through a free, fair, and transparent primary election conducted in line with the Electoral Act 2026.<\/p>\n
The governorship hopeful, however, reiterated that his promise to deliver 3.5 million votes for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu still stands, adding that no one has committed as much financial support as he has in promoting the President, not just in Lagos but across the South West.<\/p>\n
He expressed hope that the party leadership would engage him and address what he described as years of neglect of Badagry by offering tangible development to the area.<\/p>\n
According to him, efforts to seek an audience with the President over time have not been successful.<\/p>\n
Dr. Ajose concluded by revealing that leaders of opposition parties in Lagos and at the national level have reached out to him to actualise his ambition on their platforms, but he insisted that he remains committed to the APC regardless of the circumstances.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
