Authorities at Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) have welcomed the reintroduction of the monthly environmental sanitation exercise by the Lagos State Government, as residents pledged full compliance with the guidelines.<\/p>\n

The state government recently announced the resumption of the exercise, scheduled to hold monthly from the end of April between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., without restrictions on human and vehicular movement.<\/p>\n

Speaking at a stakeholders\u2019 meeting held at the council secretariat in Ejigbo, the Executive Chairman, Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo, described the initiative as a positive step toward improving environmental hygiene and public health.<\/p>\n

Taiwo noted that the meeting was part of deliberate efforts by the council to engage residents, enhance accountability, and promote civic collaboration in pursuit of sustainable development.<\/p>\n

He explained that his administration\u2019s agenda aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the THEMES+ development framework of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, with a focus on delivering tangible benefits at the grassroots.<\/p>\n

The chairman emphasized that maintaining a clean environment is a shared responsibility among residents, traders, and institutions, adding that the distribution of sanitation tools and operational equipment underscores the council\u2019s commitment to a healthier community.<\/p>\n

The event also served as a platform for Taiwo to present his administration\u2019s scorecard, highlighting achievements in infrastructure, education, youth development, digital economy, public health, and road construction.<\/p>\n

He further stated that the presentation of official vehicles to political office holders, departments, and security agencies was aimed at strengthening governance and improving service delivery within the council.<\/p>\n

Stakeholders at the meeting, including representatives of the Tricycle Operators Association of Nigeria and the National Union of Road Transport Workers, urged residents to make use of designated bus stops to reduce traffic congestion. They also reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the council, noting that security is a collective responsibility.<\/p>\n

In her vote of thanks, the Vice Chairman, Abimbola Nicholas-Ike, assured that the vehicles would be used judiciously.<\/p>\n
