Unfortunately, the recommendations are yet to be utilized and completely ignored by the ruling class, those that got political power through manipulation.

With the innovation by INEC and the use of BVAS, Nigerians feel we are gradually coming close to having real democracy in place. What we have been having is civil rule by civillian dictators.

No dictatorial tendencies is more than elected elements lording over electorate their selfish interest . This is clearly the case with the National Assembly led by Senator Akpabio to force their way on electorate which elected them as seen in the brazen removal of mandatory removal of real time electronic transmission of results.

It’s unfortunate Senate President Godswill Akpabio is working against the people. Nigeria has not been progressing because majority of the so called elected office holders manipulated their ways to hold the offices for selfish interest and personal gains and not because of interest of the country or mass of the people.

If Senators expected to be custodians of our law are not in tandem with the advancement of technology in the world , such senators are not fit
to be councillors in any community..
Every democracy in the world is advancing to have credible election which may bring a national government when it’s is supported by citizens and political class.

Some senators need to cover their faces in shame for bringing disrepute to their family and the constituencies they represent.

How could senators argue real time transmission is not possible in Nigeria or Nigeria lacks capacity for real time electronic transmission of results when Point of Sales terminals POS work in the remotest hamlets in the country.
No corruption is worst than electoral corruption, rigging and manipulation of election results , as it makes all other corruptions to fall in line.

Coalition Against Corruption and Bad Governance CACOBAG,
Centre for Credible Elections CCE,
Campaign for Constitutionalism and Human Rights CCHR ,
Centre for People s Defence CPD
and
Campaign for Democracy and Justice CDJ are part of the occupy National Assembly and is fully supportive of all actions of Civil Society Situation room as our our collective decisions.

Our Demands;

* Real Time Transmission of Election Results must be made made mandatory in the amendment to the electoral act.
* Any election which the results was not transmitted electronically in real time should be a nullity. Real time transmission is immediately after the counting of votes and endorsed by party agents present. Not any minute later..
* All Senators that were part of the manipulation to the electoral bill to reflect optional transmission of election results should be recalled by their constituencies .
* Senator Godswill Akpabio should stop arrogating power to himself for being the Senate President.Power to hire and fire political office holders lies with the masses.
* 2027 general elections should not be a sham as it used to be in the past. All lawful votes of the people must count.

Those making references to countries where results are not being transmitted electronically are enemies of this country who are directly or indirectly benefitting from the on going rot in the country.
African countries where electronic transmission of results gives their election general acceptability are hypocritically forgotten by them.
If no country even does it in the world , what is wrong in Nigeria to be the first country as the giant of Africa we claim to be?
Some people who profess only doom are bringing untenable analogy of hacking.
Why have we not all stopped online banking and message transmission online using our common telephones for fear of being hacked?
As Yorubas use to say, do we say, because of , “aji obe je, ka ma ni isasun or ka ma se obe mo”
( We cannot, because of someone who steals soup, refuse to have a pot or refuse to cook soup) .
Those stealing votes with brigandage , altering election results on papers at corners ,under bridges , under trees, in cars or at gun points are worst hackers.

Which hacker or hackers no matter how skilled or “guru-like” as tech expert/s is/are they can hack real-time, publicly transmitted election results that are being watched worldwide.
With real-time transmission, results are sent instantly and openly.Public and global observation adds transparency and scrutiny, son
to tamper would require breaking multiple layers of security simultaneously, which is extremely hard and impossible. All genius hackers in the world would find it impossible to hack such a system without being detected.

When we raise our voice in favour or against any system , it’s in the national interest and to safeguard future of our generations yet unborn.

Those who think they can manipulate 2027 general elections to favour a particular person or party should have a rethink. Nigerians are no longer docile to allow some elements to play with the future of the country.

We must get it right with the 2027 general elections.

When the masses say YES, , No Akpabio or Senator can say NO to the wish of the people.

The Chairman of the Movement for Credible Elections, Dr. Usman Bugaje has warned that the peaceful coexistence in the country may be in jeopardy if electoral malpractice holdsway during the 2027 general elections.

He however said that all hands must be on deck in ensuring that Nigeria do not go the way of Sudan and Somalia in the aftermath of the 2027 polls

Nigerians want MANDATORY REAL TIME ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSION OF ELECTION RESULTS IN THE ELECTORAL ACT.

Signed.
Toyin Raheem
Chairman CACOBAG
08023407814

Signed
Idowu Taiwo
for: CCHR
08057874496

Signed
Olutola Folorunsho
For :CPD
08113444958

Signed
Princes Segun Osarieme
For: CCE
08035175879

Coalition Against Corruption and Bad Governance CACOBAG In conjunction with Campaign for Democracy and Justice CDJ Campaign for Constitutionalism and

[2

post-20137","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-politics
["GET
