The Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) has commenced the <\/span><\/span>2026 Public Service Examination (PSE)<\/span><\/span>nationwide, holding from <\/span><\/span>Thursday, 29th to Friday, 30th January, 2026<\/span><\/span>, as part of its statutory mandate to strengthen professionalism and merit in the Nigerian Public Service.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking on the exercise, the Director-General of ASCON, <\/span><\/span>Dr<\/span><\/span>Funke Adepoju<\/span><\/span>, stated that the Public Service Examination remains a critical gateway for ensuring quality entry and career progression within the public service.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

According to her, the examination is being conducted for <\/span><\/span>candidates<\/span><\/span>drawn from <\/span><\/span>Federal and State Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs)<\/span><\/span>, including <\/span><\/span>State Civil Service Commissions, Local Government Service Commissions, Parastatals<\/span><\/span>, and other public institutions across the Federation.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

She disclosed that <\/span><\/span>a total of 2,103 candidates have been duly registered<\/span><\/span> for the 2026 Public Service Examination, representing <\/span><\/span>twenty (20) client <\/span><\/span>organisations<\/span><\/span> nationwide<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Participating <\/span><\/span>organisations<\/span><\/span> include the <\/span><\/span>Oyo State Civil Service Commission, Ondo State Civil Service Commission, Enugu State Civil Service Commission, <\/span><\/span>Ekiti<\/span><\/span> State Civil Service Commission, Delta State Civil Service, Anambra State Civil Service Commission<\/span><\/span>, and others.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Director-General explained that the <\/span><\/span>Public Service Examination (PSE)<\/span><\/span> is designed to assess the suitability of <\/span><\/span>fresh graduates<\/span><\/span> seeking appointment into the Administrative and <\/span><\/span>Specialised<\/span><\/span> Departmental Cadres of the Public Service, while also providing a credible and transparent platform for <\/span><\/span>serving officers seeking conversion<\/span><\/span> from the Executive Cadre to the Officer Cadre after acquiring relevant degree qualifications. She added that the examination equally supports the broader <\/span><\/span>manpower planning and human capacity development needs<\/span><\/span> of client <\/span><\/span>organisations<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Director-General also informed members of the public and client <\/span><\/span>organisations<\/span><\/span> that <\/span><\/span>registration for the 2026 Public Service Examination remains ongoing<\/span><\/span>, reaffirming ASCON\u2019s commitment to openness and inclusivity.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

She emphasized that ASCON remains steadfast in upholding <\/span><\/span>professionalism, transparency, merit, and institutional integrity<\/span><\/span>in the recruitment and development of human capacity for the Nigerian Public Service.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
