Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) has commenced the <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s5\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">2026 Public Service Examination (PSE)<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">nationwide, holding from <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s5\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">Thursday, 29th to Friday, 30th January, 2026<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">, as part of its statutory mandate to strengthen professionalism and merit in the Nigerian Public Service.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">Speaking on the exercise, the Director-General of ASCON, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s5\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">Dr<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s5\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">Funke Adepoju<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">, stated that the Public Service Examination remains a critical gateway for ensuring quality entry and career progression within the public service.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">According to her, the examination is being conducted for <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">candidates<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">drawn from <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s5\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">Federal and State Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs)<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">, including <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s5\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">State Civil Service Commissions, Local Government Service Commissions, Parastatals<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">, and other public institutions across the Federation.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">She disclosed that <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s5\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">a total of 2,103 candidates have been duly registered<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\"> for the 2026 Public Service Examination, representing <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s5\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">twenty (20) client <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s5\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">organisations<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s5\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\"> nationwide<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">Participating <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">organisations<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\"> include the <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s5\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">Oyo State Civil Service Commission, Ondo State Civil Service Commission, Enugu State Civil Service Commission, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s5\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">Ekiti<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s5\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\"> State Civil Service Commission, Delta State Civil Service, Anambra State Civil Service Commission<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">, and others.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s3\"><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">The Director-General explained that the <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s5\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">Public Service Examination (PSE)<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\"> is designed to assess the suitability of <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s5\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">fresh graduates<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\"> seeking appointment into the Administrative and <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">Specialised<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\"> Departmental Cadres of the Public Service, while also providing a credible and transparent platform for <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s5\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\">serving officers seeking conversion<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"><span class=\"bumpedFont17\"> from the Executive Cadre to the Officer Cadre after acquiring relevant degree qualifications.
