<\/p>\n\u2026As Leadership Newspapers formally notifies her of Person of the Year Award<\/b><\/p>\n
The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has formally received notification of her conferment as Leadership Newspapers\u2019 Person of the Year.<\/p>\n
During a courtesy visit by the management of Leadership Newspapers, led by its Chairman, Mrs. Zainab Nda-Isaiah, the First Lady expressed appreciation for the honour, describing it as a call to do even more.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cWith this, I am fired up for the year,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am guided by the scripture which says, \u2018I can do all things.\u2019 There is still more for me to do \u2014 what I am doing for the common man,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
She noted that her strong work ethic is inspired by her husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom she described as a hard-working man.<\/p>\n
The First Lady also expressed gratitude that her efforts as a woman are being recognised, stating that she moves through life at her own pace.<\/p>\n
While acknowledging that society is largely male-dominated, she said this reality only calls for greater effort from women.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have never seen men as a challenge, but it makes me know that I have to work three times harder to get ahead. I tell girls all the time: you have to be confident, focused, and hardworking to get ahead,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Senator Tinubu commended the late founder of the Leadership Group, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah, describing him as a man of integrity.<\/p>\n
\u201cI also thank all members of management who have held the organisation together since you assumed leadership. Thank you all,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
In her remarks, Mrs. Zainab Nda-Isaiah disclosed that the selection of the First Lady as Person of the Year 2025 was a unanimous decision of the Board and Management, based on the documented impact of her interventions across the country through the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) since the inception of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s administration in 2023.<\/p>\n
Also speaking, the Senior Vice Chairman of the Group, Mr. Azu Ishiekwene, said the First Lady has redefined the Office of the First Lady, transforming it into a force for leadership driven by passion and compassion, impacting lives across the country without tribal, religious, or political bias.<\/p>\n
He noted that the award is one the organisation takes seriously, as it is reserved for excellence, hard work, and dedication.<\/p>\n
The award ceremony, scheduled for February 12, 2026, marks the 18th edition of the event. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has previously received the award three times.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
