Wale Raji, has disclosed that over 2,000 streetlights have been installed across his constituency to protect lives and property, particularly in identified black spots.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">He also revealed that the Epe Divisional Police Station, now upgraded to a divisional headquarters, has been refurbished and equipped with modern facilities to enhance emergency response. The facility, recently commissioned by the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, was named after the first indigene of Epe to retire as an Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Ganiyu Atanda Agbaje.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The federal lawmaker made these disclosures while featuring live on Rainbow 94.1 FM\u2019s <\/span><span class=\"s3\">Gbagede Oro<\/span><span class=\"s2\">programme, anchored by Opeyemi Makinde.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Hon. Raji explained that most of the projects were executed through the Constituency Project initiative, clarifying that funds were not released directly to lawmakers. Instead, they are permitted to recommend projects and monitor their execution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">He noted that Epe faces challenges in access to schools, adding that through his intervention, over 170 classrooms have been constructed in areas such as Itemu, with the establishment of Junior Community High School and Senior Secondary School, as well as in Ilara and Odu Obara. These schools were also furnished with modern furniture.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The lawmaker further stated that the Oriba community, with its large population, previously had no secondary school. This gap, he said, has been addressed with the construction of Oko Abe Junior Community High School, eliminating the risks students faced while travelling by water to attend school.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">According to him, Epe Secondary School, one of the oldest schools in the area, has been provided with new male and female hostels, alongside other projects scheduled for commissioning this Friday by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Hon. Raji also disclosed that Aiyetoro Market, which is over 80 years old, had part of it redeveloped by private developers at the cost of \u20a63.6 million. Through the Constituency Project, he said, additional shops were constructed and allocated free of charge to traders as a form of sustainable empowerment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">He added that about 800 shops have also been built in other markets, including Mojoda, Itoikin, and Agbowa, and distributed free to residents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">On social welfare, the federal lawmaker stated that 150 residents aged 70 years and above were selected and paid \u20a610,000 monthly for over five years, with regular visits made to monitor their wellbeing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">He further revealed that more than 50 indigenes have secured employment at the federal and state levels, while over 200 residents were trained in animal husbandry in Araga and supported with \u20a6100,000 each as take-off capital.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Addressing reports that the Itoikin, Gberigbe, and Ikorodu\u2013Epe roads had been abandoned, Hon. Raji dismissed the claims, noting that contractors are still on site, with additional support from Senator Tokunbo Abiru.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Epe Federal Constituency comprises Agbowa, Eredo, Ise, Ode Omi, Ilara, Ketu, Noforija, Ejirin, Igboye, and other communities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">So of his major achievements as of 2026 include:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Education and ICT<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Classroom Infrastructure<\/span><span class=\"s2\">: Facilitated the construction and rehabilitation of over <\/span><span class=\"s1\">160 classroom blocks<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> across various public schools in Epe.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">New Schools<\/span><span class=\"s2\">: Established at least <\/span><span class=\"s1\">5 new schools<\/span><span class=\"s2\">, including Ilege Secondary School and Temu Junior Secondary School, which he subsequently handed over to the Lagos State Government for staffing and operation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Student Support<\/span><span class=\"s2\">: Distributed essential materials such as mattresses for Epe Grammar School students and established functional <\/span><span class=\"s1\">ICT centers<\/span><span class=\"s2\">to boost digital literacy.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Economic Empowerment and Markets\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Market Development<\/span><span class=\"s2\">: Facilitated the construction of market stalls at Ayetoro Marketand other locations to support local businesses.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Financial Grants<\/span><span class=\"s2\">: Supported small business owners with loan grants and provided agricultural assistance to farmers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Vocational Training<\/span><span class=\"s2\">: Sponsored programs to provide vocational and technical training for young people.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Infrastructure and Security<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Roads and Lighting<\/span><span class=\"s2\">: Facilitated over 20 road projects, many featuring solar street lights for enhanced security.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Security Facilities<\/span><span class=\"s2\">: Contributed to improving security infrastructure by constructing new police accommodations.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Social Welfare<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Elderly Care<\/span><span class=\"s2\">: Initiated a monthly welfare program for elderly residents, providing financial support.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Healthcare<\/span><span class=\"s2\">: Supported medical outreach initiatives offering free screenings and surgeries.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Legislative Activities<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Bill Sponsorship<\/span><span class=\"s2\">: Sponsored bills related to worker casualization and terrorism prevention.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Budget Reform<\/span><span class=\"s2\">: Played a role in restoring the standard budget cycle.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A member of the National Assembly, Hon.
