The Lagos Water Corporation (LWC) has unveiled its new Crawler Bot technology, a major step in modernizing and securing potable water supply across the State.<\/p>\n

LWC Managing Director, Engr. Mukhtaar Tijani highlighted that assessing underground transmission mains has long been difficult, slow, and costly. The crawler bot now provides the visibility LWC has lacked.<\/p>\n

Developed with support from Konsadem Associates and McAlpha Inc., the robot travels inside pipelines, capturing high-definition video, measurements, and detecting corrosion, cracks, blockages, and potential leaks.<\/p>\n

It also maps pipe coordinates and diameters, giving engineers unprecedented insight into critical assets.<\/p>\n

This innovation enables smarter decision-making, targeted maintenance, reduced water losses, and improved service reliability.<\/p>\n

Integrated with GIS mapping and hydraulic modelling, it strengthens LWC\u2019s push for digital transformation and efficient long-term planning.<\/p>\n

The initiative underscores LWC\u2019s commitment to sustainability, operational excellence, and safeguarding Lagos\u2019 water infrastructure. The Corporation thanked its engineers, consultants, partners, and the Lagos State Government for their support.<\/p>\n
