\nOluwaseun Evelyn of Farm 2 Fill has emerged winner of the maiden edition of the <\/span>Most Beautiful Farmer Lagos<\/span> competition, organised by the Farm Junction Foundation in collaboration with the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her outstanding performance among 12 finalists earned her a brand-new truck worth \u20a615 million, while the first runner-up, Baliqees Ibrahim of Green Republic Farms, received a cash prize of \u20a62 million. The second runner-up, Oluwaseun Obadan from Arso Farms, was rewarded with \u20a61 million, and the remaining nine participants each received \u20a6250,000 as consolation prizes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Presenting the prizes at the grand finale held at the Martinos Event Centre, Otunba Jobifele Way, CBD, Alausa, Ikeja, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems, Ms. Abisola Olusanya, explained that the competition was designed to celebrate skill, innovation, and creativity in agriculture\u2014beyond physical beauty.<\/span><\/p>\n

Olusanya reaffirmed the Lagos State Government\u2019s commitment to achieving food sufficiency amid its growing population. She also hinted that men might be included in subsequent editions to promote inclusivity in the agricultural space.<\/span><\/p>\n

Commending the organisers, she noted that it took over a year of meticulous planning to bring the initiative to life, describing it as a first-of-its-kind event in Nigeria and possibly across Africa.<\/span><\/p>\n

The commissioner further disclosed that the winner and other participants will be presented at the grand finale of the World Food Day celebration on Thursday, October 16, at the Police College, Ikeja.<\/span><\/p>\n

Responding to concerns raised by some contestants, Olusanya stated that the state government earlier in the year distributed free agricultural inputs to farmers, adding that <\/span>Eko Logistics<\/span> would facilitate cold chain storage and the transportation of perishable food items.<\/span><\/p>\n

In her remarks, an elated Oluwaseun Evelyn expressed gratitude to the organisers for the platform, pledging to serve as a worthy ambassador for agriculture and inspire more Nigerians, especially youths, to embrace farming.<\/span><\/p>\n
