A road walk and sensitization exercise to commemorate World Food Day was organized by the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems in conjunction with its partners as part of activities lined up for the celebration.<\/p>\n

The walk, led by the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems, Ms. Abisola Olusanya, kicked off from JJT Park, Alausa, to Allen Roundabout, Ikeja, and returned to the starting point.<\/p>\n

October 16 of every year is set aside to mark World Food Day, reminding the world of the critical need for collective action against hunger and malnutrition.<\/p>\n

The day also commemorates the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations in 1945 \u2014 a milestone in the global fight against food insecurity.<\/p>\n
