The Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN) has commended the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for appointing CSP Benjamin Hundeyin as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), following the redeployment of DCP Muyiwa Adejobi.<\/p>\n
In a statement signed by its President, Comrade Olalekan Olabulo, CRAN described Hundeyin\u2019s appointment as a well-deserved recognition of his professionalism, dedication, and remarkable contributions to policing and effective communication in Nigeria.<\/p>\n
The association noted that Hundeyin\u2019s impressive academic background\u2014which includes a BA (Hons) in English Language from Lagos State University and an MSc in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan\u2014alongside his specialized training in Civil-Military Coordination at the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre, Jaji, Kaduna State, uniquely prepares him for the role.<\/p>\n
CRAN further highlighted his wealth of experience, having served as Police Public Relations Officer at Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Lagos; Administration Officer at the Force Public Relations Department, Abuja; and most recently, as spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command.<\/p>\n
Comrade Olabulo added that Hundeyin\u2019s international exposure, particularly as part of Nigeria\u2019s contingent to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan (UNAMID) in 2020, underscores his capacity to represent the Nigeria Police Force on the global stage.<\/p>\n
\u201cCSP Hundeyin has consistently demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to strengthening the bond between the police and the public. During his tenure as Lagos Police PRO, he worked closely with crime reporters, fostering mutual respect and building a relationship anchored on openness and accountability. His appointment as Force PRO is both a recognition of his competence and a new opportunity to deepen public confidence in the Force,\u201d CRAN stated.<\/p>\n
While pledging its continuous support and collaboration, CRAN urged Hundeyin to build on his past achievements and leverage his communication expertise to further reposition the image of the Nigeria Police Force.<\/p>\n
\u201cOnce again, the association congratulates him and wishes him success in his new role,\u201d the statement concluded.<\/p>\n
