We need to use our mouths constructively: to pray, to praise, and to speak positively, if we truly want to transform this country,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>She lamented the negative portrayal of women in some media, saying, \u201cA lot of negative things have been said about women. Many negative movies and narratives are out there. But we must change that narrative and prove that we can do better.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to her, women must be more involved in governance. \u201cWomen should be found in places where policies are made, where decisions are taken \u2014 not just relegated to the \u2018other room,\u2019\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Reinforcing her earlier point, the First Lady said: \u201cWe want to be seen as working in unity \u2014 both women in leadership and those at the grassroots. Let us use our voices wisely \u2014 for prayers, for praise, and for positive change.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Delivering his goodwill message, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, commended the leadership of POWA for their unwavering support to police families and for uplifting the welfare of officers\u2019 spouses across the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPOWA brings together a multicultural community of women and plays a transformative role in improving the socio-economic conditions of police families across Nigeria,\u201d he said. \u201cThrough your dedication to welfare, skills acquisition, health, education, and community development, you have uplifted many lives and inspired hope both within and beyond the barracks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He further lauded POWA\u2019s recent achievements, including empowering over 1,000 women in Lagos, expanding welfare programs nationwide, boosting microfinance support, and initiating vital health and entrepreneurship projects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour work has not only enhanced the wellbeing of police families but has also contributed significantly to national unity, security, and social stability,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by the Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Mrs. Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin, also expressed gratitude to the women for their role in supporting their husbands to serve effectively.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou are not just wives and mothers \u2014 you are the backbone of our security.
