It also allows for the correction of personal details, transfer of registration, and replacement of lost or damaged PVCs.”

The meeting, which brought together leaders of political parties, members of civil society organizations, and representatives of the media, served as a platform for INEC to outline its plans and expectations for a smooth and transparent registration process.

Dr. Omoseyindemi called on political parties and civil society groups to mobilize and sensitize the public on the significance of the exercise, urging them to avoid any actions that could undermine the credibility of the process, such as multiple registrations or voter manipulation.

“We count on civil society organizations to use their platforms to educate citizens, and we expect political parties to act within the bounds of the law,” he said.

The REC further assured stakeholders that the Commission is leveraging technology and adopting measures to ensure inclusivity and transparency throughout the exercise. According to him, the CVR will take place at designated registration centres, including INEC Local Government Area offices and other approved venues, with details to be announced soon.

He also noted that the process would involve both online pre-registration and physical biometric capture at designated centres.

To ensure a peaceful and credible registration exercise, INEC is working closely with security agencies and other relevant partners. Dr. Omoseyindemi appealed for continued cooperation and support from all stakeholders to ensure the success of the CVR.

“Together, let us ensure that no eligible voter in Ekiti State is left behind,” he concluded.

The CVR exercise is a preparatory step ahead of the 2026 governorship polls and is expected to play a key role in the electoral participation of the state’s growing voter population.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ekiti State has commenced stakeholder engagement in preparation for the forthcoming Continuous Voter

[2

post-15973","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-politics
["GET
