The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly criticized the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its newly-formed coalition, describing the alliance as a \u201cstill-born\u201d political experiment lacking structure, credibility, and relevance in Nigeria\u2019s political space.<\/p>\n
In a statement signed by the party\u2019s spokesperson, Hon. Seye Oladejo, the APC dismissed the ADC\u2019s attempt to rebrand itself through a coalition, labeling it a \u201cdesperate move by political journeymen\u201d who have no ideological clarity or electoral worth.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe ADC, over the years, has failed to define its place in Nigeria\u2019s political evolution. It remains a haven for disgruntled politicians who see coalition-building as a shortcut to power,\u201d Oladejo stated.<\/p>\n
The APC accused members of the ADC-led coalition of playing on the intelligence of Nigerians by simultaneously maintaining membership in other political parties \u2014 a move the ruling party described as \u201cpolitical bigamy\u201d and a breach of ethical standards.<\/p>\n
As Nigeria undergoes what the APC described as \u201ctough but necessary reforms\u201d under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s administration, the party urged opposition actors to rise above \u201cpartisan noise\u201d and contribute meaningfully to national discourse.<\/p>\n
Oladejo added that the APC in Lagos, regarded as the cradle of progressive politics, remains undeterred by what he termed \u201cpolitical gimmickry from fringe parties,\u201d emphasizing that the party is focused on delivering good governance and supporting the president\u2019s Renewed Hope agenda.<\/p>\n
He further called on Nigerians to be wary of political alliances formed merely out of ambition rather than a commitment to national development.<\/p>\n
