The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has officially announced Saturday, July 12, 2025, as the date for the much-anticipated local government elections across the state.<\/p>\n
According to a public notice issued by LASIEC and signed by its Chairman, Hon. Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile (Rtd), the election will cover all 20 constitutionally recognized Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) of Lagos State.<\/p>\n
The poll will also include elections for councillors across the 376 electoral wards in the state.<\/p>\n
As stipulated in the notice, polling activities will commence by 8:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. on election day. Voters are expected to cast their ballots only at the polling units where they are registered.<\/p>\n
LASIEC emphasized that only individuals whose names appear in the official Voters Register will be allowed to participate in the election.<\/p>\n
