{"id":15336,"date":"2025-07-04T07:35:31","date_gmt":"2025-07-04T07:35:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thenewsnow.org\/?p=15336"},"modified":"2025-07-04T07:35:31","modified_gmt":"2025-07-04T07:35:31","slug":"federal-ministry-of-transportation-partners-kaduna-state-to-boost-sustainable-land-transport-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thenewsnow.org\/index.php\/2025\/07\/04\/federal-ministry-of-transportation-partners-kaduna-state-to-boost-sustainable-land-transport-development\/","title":{"rendered":"Federal Ministry of Transportation Partners Kaduna State to Boost Sustainable Land Transport Development"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The Federal Ministry of Transportation has expressed its commitment to collaborate with the Kaduna State Government to advance the development of the land transport sector, with a focus on enhancing connectivity, accessibility, and economic growth across Nigeria.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Minister of Transportation, Senator Said Ahmed Alkali, made this known in Abuja while receiving the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, who paid him a courtesy visit to propose a partnership with the federal ministry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">In line with the <\/span><span class=\"s3\">Renewed Hope Agenda<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s administration, Senator Alkali emphasized the Ministry\u2019s resolve to deliver on key infrastructural projects, notably the Kaduna\u2013Kano segment of the railway modernization project, which is scheduled for completion by next year. He also referenced the Kano\u2013Maradi line, including its extension to Dutse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cAll hands must be on deck to deliver the dividends of democracy,\u201d Alkali stated, announcing that a committee will be inaugurated next week to fast-track the implementation of the Kaduna Light-Rail project.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The minister directed the Director overseeing the office of the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Musa Ibrahim, to immediately constitute the committee, which will comprise representatives from the Federal Ministry of Transportation, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), and the Kaduna State Government. The committee is expected to submit its report within two weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Commending Governor Sani for his remarkable strides in improving infrastructure in Kaduna State, Alkali pledged continued collaboration to ensure timely delivery of all railway modernization projects in the state and beyond.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cI give you the assurance that the Ministry will continue to collaborate with the sub-nationals to ensure the development of rail transportation in the country,\u201d Alkali said, noting that \u201ctransportation is the gateway of the nation\u2019s economy. There is no way any nation can fix its GDP without getting an affordable transportation sector.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Governor Uba Sani, in his remarks, highlighted recent improvements in Kaduna\u2019s transportation landscape.
